SHSU-BJJ is a student run Brazilian Jiu-jitsu society which, in partnership with Fortify Jiu Jitsu, BJJ classes are taught by Mark Bottom. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling sport, which is a combat-fighting sport based on strength and submission. Classes range from Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday's, and consist of No-Gi or Gi classes. No-Gi refers to training or competitiion without a Gi or Kimono, wheras Gi refers to training or competing in such.
As of now, training is ONLY at Fortify Jiu Jitsu, however, the aim is to soon be training on campus on the off-days for free.
Classes are as follows...
Monday:
- Beginners No-Gi, 6-7pm.
- Advanced No-Gi, 7-9pm.
Wednesday:
- Beginners Gi, 6-7pm.
- Advanced Gi, 7-9pm.
Friday
- Comp Class, No-Gi 7-8pm and Gi 8-9pm.
Sunday
- Open mat, 10am-12pm.
Fees for students are £5 per class, or £50 for the month.
