Adopt a Society

Can't find an existing society that peaks your interest? When interest in a society dies down, it is put up for adoption and needs a bit of TLC to get up and running again.

This is where you come in. Do you have what it takes to adopt one of our once loved societies?

How does it work?

Adopting a society is easy:

  1. Decide which society you would like to adopt and tell us at activitiesadmin@shu.ac.uk 
  2. In the email, please include the Committee Members' names, student numbers and which roles they will be filling. This will be minimum 4 different students. 
  3. Book in an induction with us
  4. You're ready to go! We will put the society's dedicated webpage back up and you can get on with hosting activity.

Societies up for adoption

All societies entering the Adopt a Soc programme will remain in the programme for one academic year, after which it will be closed down.
