Welcome to SHOUT! 2026-7

We are the Sheffield Hallam Occupational Therapy Society.  SHOUT is a community of Occupational Therapists at various stages of our careers. Our aim is to offer inspiring CPD and fabulous social events. Some of us are at the beginning of our journey as students of occupational therapy. Others are on the apprentice route, currently therapy assistants. Some are new to occupational therapy and taking the foundation route. Meanwhile, others are registered and continuing their development and connections as academics, researchers, supervisors and lecturers. Everyone is welcome to join as student or associate members. Tell your friends and colleagues; there are so many reasons to join.

For 2026-7, we have planned regular opportunities for us to come together. Our CPD sessions prioritise the lived experience of people supported by Occupational Therapists. The committee have been meeting throughout July and August to plan a year of a tantalising range of events. These will all be advertised on WhatsApp, Insta and the  Sheffield Hallam SU website. As soon as you are a member, you're able to join our WhatsApp Group. Then you can let us know your ideas and encourage friends to come along too. We love it when past students join as associate members because including people and growing our skills is what we are all about. Join us for a brilliant year.

We all get inspired in different ways. This book is a highly recommended story about learning to love food and overcoming anorexia. We will be discussing this in a book group session this Autumn.
