Talk to us
Our society is a welcoming and informal group of people who enjoy diverse community and friendship together whilst at Hallam. Our meetings are a great place to spend time with other Christians experiencing the joys and struggles of uni life, while also reaching out to students at Hallam with the message of the gospel. We'd love to meet you, whatever your faith or background! If you're not sure if Christian is the right word for you then that's okay too, come along and make yourself known to us and we'd love to get to know you.
We meet every Thursday evening at 7:30pm in the Student Union (HUB's) Hideout Bar. Our meetings generally have some worship, teaching from the Bible, and a chance for prayer - all of which we use to help us seek after, learn about, and get to know God - the creator of all things who sent himself to us in Christ Jesus. Afterwards, we head to the pub to socialise in more depth.
If you are unsure if our meetings are for you then please get in touch via our Instagram (@hallamcu) or Facebook pages.

As well as our regular Thursday meetings, we have a range of mid-week activities, socials and evangelistic events:
- Freshers events (check our Instagram @hallamcu)
- Prayer Meetings
- Impact groups, a smaller group of 4-6 people that meet regularly to have a bible study and create deeper, closer friendships
- Weekend Away (Dates to be finalised)
- Carol Service at Christmas
- Socials (peak district trips, laser tag, film nights etc.)
- Mission Week, is an awesome week of different activities and events aimed at making Jesus known on campus
- Forum, a week-long training event over the summer
Membership is £7, and this goes towards funding our events and buying equipment for our meetings. It's really important that regular members get a membership to help us continue in what we do but, there is no pressure to buy a membership until you would like to.
All are welcome with or without a membership :)
If you want to know more about the CU, feel free to drop us an email or an Instagram message, and keep up to date with us on any social media (links listed above), We look forward to meeting you!
Our prayer is that God would bring people to us that help us to glorify him and his work on our campus.
