About us

The Fellwalking & Mountaineering Club (FMC) is one of Hallam’s most active and long-standing societies, welcoming all abilities and backgrounds. We run weekly Sunday hikes to the Peak District (routes chosen by member vote) and Wednesday themed socials from our jam-packed calendar!

Each year, we host three weekends away across Great Britain—to the Lake District, Eryri National Park, and the Scottish Highlands — plus a festive Christmas dinner. We’re also taking on three charity hiking challenges aiming to raise money for great causes.

Our committee is health & safety trained, carries first aid equipment on every hike, ensuring a safe, fun adventure for all. Members enjoy bar discounts, the chance to grab exclusive FMC merch, and a welcoming community where experience isn’t required 😊
