We are a welcoming community for anyone interested in languages and cultures, whether you're a complete beginner, a fluent speaker, or simply curious about learning more about the world. You don't even need to speak another language to join!
While we don't formally teach languages, we provide a supportive environment where members can practise their language skills, discover new cultures, build confidence, and connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
Throughout the year, we organise a variety of academic, cultural, and social events designed to help you meet new people and have fun. Our events include language conversation sessions, games and quizzes, international film nights, cooking workshops, guest speakers, nights out, and much more. We regularly collaborate with other societies and local venues to bring our members a wide range of exciting opportunities and experiences.
Don't worry, we're not all about textbooks and grammar!
We also have a lively WhatsApp community with dedicated chat groups for different languages, making it easy to find conversation partners and connect with fellow members who share similar interests. Plus, we even have our own Languages Society Football Team for those who enjoy sport and socialising.
