SET Portal

This is your hub for SET programme resources and recording progress towards the next levels.

Welcome to the Student Employability and Training portal. Use the following Level options to access resources available to you as a SET trainee, plus other requirements to complete the progress registration.

Submit your progress

For each level of the training programme completed you will be awarded a certificate. To be awarded your certificates, please submit your progress by selecting the completed level of your choice. Ensure you have completed all the requirements before you submit your progress.

Level One: Meta Skills

Level 1 focuses on learning the basics of your role. Meta skills allow us to be ready for any learning that may have to be undertaken in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Complete LinkedIn core modules, including any chapter quizzes
  • Reflection of skills gained after each module

Level Two: Role Specific Skills

Level 2 focuses on learning the skills required to perform any given set of objectives related to the role. You will gain an assertive understanding of deploying your superpowers.

Requirements

  • Complete Level 1
  • Attend all relevant training sessions attached to your role - i.e. society workshops, committee rep training, etc.
  • Plan, organise, and evaluate another role being undertaken by someone in your cohort at the same event

Level Three: Career Focused

Level 3 focuses on your career objectives. You will learn the STAR technique to illustrate your skills and join the SHU Career Centre.

Requirements

  • Complete Level 1 & Level 2
  • Complete a personal statement exercise using the STAR technique
