Hello everyone!
Join Sheffield Hallam Reading Society for 2025/26!
We offer FREE monthly book loans courtesy of Sheffield Libraries-we loan these in sets and provide 4 different books to choose from each month (we do ask that these are returned to us on time so that we can meet our return date with the library).
The Reading Society is a fun, welcoming society that's aimed towards those who enjoy reading and meeting new people with similar interests, putting everything social, first. We’re a diverse group of students who love reading, socialising and discussing everything book related. We’re open to all, whether you enjoy reading fiction novels, non-fiction books or even prefer manga/comics! If you're interested, join our groupchat, check out our instagram or come along to one of our events - everyone's welcome! The society has held a healthy 200 membership number for the last couple of years, so there's no better time to join!
We have meetings every two weeks on a Wednesday, where we hold events that are book related and socialise afterwards at The Beaten Track! You can expect bookish quizzes at our main meetings and socials at our sponsored establishments as well as non alcohol venues such as cafes and bookstores. We've got loads of events to come this year and you can check out our student union page and our Instagram for information. New members are always welcome, and we usually have people joining at all times throughout the year so feel free to come along at any point in the year!
