Are you intrigued by Politics and International Affairs?
Model United Nations (MUN) is a society that provides a space for people passionate and interested in international relations, the UN and diplomacy. We follow the United Nations’ rules of procedure to simulate a realistic UN-style debate. Through discussion, you will develop skills in diplomacy, public speaking, leadership, research and analysis.
Are you interested in political institutions other than the United Nations? We cover a large range of political institutions from the United Kingdom (Model House of Commons and Senedd) and Europe (NATO), in addition to the UN. We also simulate crises, a faster-paced and more creative form of debate. If there is any political body that interests you, we are keen to emulate it.
Model UN opens doors to travel. Conventions are held all over the UK and Europe. Once you gain the skills and understanding that are required, you can apply to conferences worldwide and test your abilities on the big stage!
No prior experience is needed!
We understand that the UN procedure may be a lot to process if you’ve never researched international affairs or the United Nations. Each session has allocated time prior to or during the meeting to ensure everyone is prepared for debate. If you are unsure of the structure of the debates, we have resources that will teach you the proceedings. Sessions are held fortnightly and last for 2 hours. All information about future sessions is on social media.
If you have any questions, please contact us on social media or join our WhatsApp; we are keen to hear from everyone!
