The team here at Sheffield Hallam Students' Union Student Advice Centre are celebrating today for successfully passing the Advice Quality Standard (AQS), a nationally recognised quality mark for organisations providing free, independent advice to members of the public.
Madeleine Parkinson, Advice and Wellbeing Manager, said, 'We are so pleased to have been awarded the AQS as it reassures our students that we are working to the best possible professional standards. The team of staff and volunteers have worked very hard to achieve the AQS.'
The Student Advice Centre offers free, confidential advice to Sheffield Hallam students. They can help with a range of issues, such as problems with your student loan or getting your deposit back, through to representing you at academic conduct or disciplinary meetings… and if they cannot help you, they will know someone who can!
The Advice Service consists of a team of professionally trained and experienced advisers who are independent of the University. No problem is too big, or too small, and no question is too silly. They are there to help you.
