The Vegan Society Feed the Homeless

Featured

The Vegan Society have been pretty busy spreading the word of veganism to the masses recently! They put on an excellent event at the HUBS that you were probably at - the Vegan Food Fair. And then on Friday they were busy helping the Homeless. We caught up with society member Ginny to see what they are all about and to find out more about their most recent work. Here is what Ginny Doxey had to say:

"We are around 30 members in the society, all with different dietary preferences: meat eaters, vegans, vegetarians and pescetarians, the society is open to all.

We went to Cathedral Archer Project as one of our members, Hannah Weaver, is very involved with cooking food and helping homeless people. Hannah is also a diet and nutrition student here at Hallam. We heard about the project via the Students' Union and realised that the Students' Union could help **fund it so we thought why not! Plus, it meant that we could make vegan meals which would mean not only helping homeless people eat, but helping homeless people eat healthily.
