We (Sheffield Hallam Students' Union) are very pleased to announce that we have achieved Stage 1 Investors in...
Since the beginning of this year, we have been working with the National Centre for Diversity to attain “Investors in Diversity (IID) Stage 1”; a nationally recognised equality and diversity accreditation that acknowledges and celebrates excellence in this area. As part of this 1,400 of you (Hallam students) completed a questionnaire expressing your honest opinion regarding your experience and knowledge of our organisation in relation to our work around equality, diversity and inclusion.
I am delighted to be able to share with you the fantastic news that we have been awarded Stage 1 accreditation! This is a great achievement and I would like to thank all of you for the time and effort that you put into this and the support that you have given to the process.
Below is a summary of the results for those of you that are interested. There are improvements that need to be made in our journey to becoming Investors in Diversity. So what happens next? We will be working with the National Centre for Diversity to produce an action plan that will mean we address the areas that need developing and put the necessary measures in place to ensure that we improve and achieve our ultimate aim of becoming an equal, diverse and inclusive place for all. We want equality, diversity and inclusion to be imbeded in our organisations culture and something that we all champion! We strive to become a place that everyone feels welcome and comfortable in!
