Our response to the Iranian protests: a stance of solidarity

We share our deepest sympathy for Iranian citizens and for our students affected by the ongoing conflict in Iran.

Hallam is home to many students from different backgrounds and religious beliefs. We are stronger together and do not support violence of any kind.

We are saddened by the continued experience of the young people of Iran, especially those who are with us here at Hallam. The protests and counteractivities of the government remind us of the need for unity in the face of adversaries.

The Students' Union stands with you in solidarity.

We are both shocked and appalled by the human rights violations taking place. Tensions are rising between government authorities as they continue in their campaign of terror against the people of Iran. Our thoughts are with all the innocent men, women, and children affected.

Hallam Students' Union advocates the right to peaceable protests and for individuals to be who they are without fear of prejudice.

We are working alongside Sheffield Hallam University to support students that are indirectly or directly affected by these atrocities.

Have you been affected?

Students who require further support can contact our Student Advice Centre or book a one-to-one appointment with one of the University's wellbeing services.
