We are proud to announce that Hallam Politics student Rhiannon Boland who works at the Students' Union as a Democracy and Representation Assistant and has won the Sheffield Hallam University Employee of the Year Award - Step up to Leadership.
It all started when her supervisors nominated her for the award for the fantastic work that she has done for their team and for the Students' Union as a whole.
When asked why they nominated Rhiannon, this is what her supervisor Emma had to say:
"She has been a valuable member of staff in her role as the Democracy and Representation Assistant. She has been a massive help in our main elections, managing student outreach emails and introducing new monitoring systems, as well as co-ordinating staff availability for an elections staff rota. Rhiannon also led on the planning, organisation and set up for results night; one of the biggest nights of our annual calendar! The results night was a massive success and looked amazing and Rhiannon was integral in making this happen. The determination and drive Rhiannon has shown throughout her role as our Democracy and Representation Assistant has been invaluable".
So what happens next? Well, Rhiannon's nomination now goes to the regional awards where she could win Student Employee of the Year for the region (if she wins that she’ll go to the national awards). Please join me in congratulating Rhiannon on this great achievement as well as wishing her all the best for the Regional Awards.
We will keep you updated with how Rhiannon gets on.
