New Chair of Trustees at Sheffield Hallam Students' Union

Sheffield Hallam Students' Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Oliver Coppard as Chair of the Trustee Board.

Oliver was born and raised in Sheffield and brings a passion for the local area, a significant network and a wealth of experience to the role. He was the Labour Party's Parliamentary Candidate in Sheffield Hallam at the 2015 general election, has led programmes such as the Dearn Valley Eco Vision Project at the Sheffield City Region LEP and was the Britain Stronger in Europe Campaign Director in Yorkshire and Humber during last year's referendum campaign. Oliver now works for leading reading charity the Booktrust. His experience at the forefront of political and social campaigns and his track record of delivering real change make him an exciting new addition to the Board of Trustees.

Talking about his appointment, Students' Union President, Emily Wilkes said "We are very happy to have such a leading figure in Sheffield coming on board with us. He has such relevant knowledge and experience, and I believe he will have a positive impact on the direction of Sheffield Hallam Students' Union. I look forward to working with him."

Oliver will be taking up the role with immediate effect.
