Hideout is now OPEN!

We are NOW OPEN! Make sure to stop by for a drink and some food.

15th September

After a lot of last minute panicking, the bar officially opened to students on the 15th September 2017. On the Thursday, staff and the students involved in the refurb gathered to have a first look and celebrate the work of all those involved. The feedback we have received from those of you that have been in to the Hideout has been fantastic, exactly what we wanted to hear. If you haven't been in yet then I definitely recommend checking it out. Maybe go in for one of our weekly nights. Our range of lunches are pretty yummy to. We do vegan food and have options for our fussy eaters. See you down here!

31st August - More deliveries

More furniture has arrived, the booths are in and the wallpaper has also started going up, again by our very own handy woman Alison! Is there anything that woman can't do. It is looking pretty chaotic in the bar but don't worry it will all be done ready for your arrival. Not too much of an update this time around but its still so exciting!

25th August - Express delivery!

We have started receiving deliveries of the new furniture in Bar Phoenix! The furniture is being made by Total Reuse a company that upcycle furniture. They have done an amazing job at transforming all the old furniture that was in the bar. Oh and our own Alison (Students' Union Catering Supervisor) did all the tiling behind the bar which has made a massive difference! The edgy vibe is really starting to shine through in the bar! I am totally loving it! Check out some of the update pics below.

23th August 2017 - The orange has gone!

It ha been a while since we last updated you with the Students' Union Bar refurb progress hasn't it! Well the good news is that things have come a long way! The orange paint that I was not a fan of has gone! The poor builders had a nightmare painting the bar, particularly the ceiling! The next time you are in the bar, have a look up and you will see why.  But anyway it is all done and looks so much better than it did before!

25th July 2017 - Out with the old

So the last time we came here, we told you the news that Bar Phoneix would be having a long over due makeover, being led by Hallam Interior Design students. As promised here are some updates. Today we say goodbye to the old Bar Phoenix as it is all ripped out and all the furniture taken away.

Student Olivia was present directing the clear out operation. We are super excited for the new Bar, you are going to love it! Olivia has informed us that the plan is to have the flooring go down tomorrow (26th July). We can't believe all the sections are about to come to life. It's so exciting! Make sure to follow us on Snapchat - Hallamsu - where you will get to have a good old look into the progress of the Bar as well as updates from the Interior Design students involved. Here are a few pictures from the current state of Bar Phoenix tomorrow.
