Apply for Student Finance for 2019/20 NOW!

The Student Finance England (SFE) full-time undergraduate application service for 2019/20 is now open, and the deadlines are soon!!!!!

New and continuing students should apply online at www.gov.uk/studentfinance.

Why should I apply now?  I'm busy on my course and September is ages away…

If you are a continuing student you should apply as soon as possible.  If you don't apply by 21 June 2019 your funding will not be guaranteed to arrive on time in September.  If anything changes, for example you need to repeat, you can amend your application later.

I'm a new student, and I'm not sure if I'm going to Hallam yet…

You should still get your application in before 24 May 2019. This will mean wherever you study, you should get your money on time.  If you change your mind about which university you'll go to, or if you defer or decide not to come at all, you can update the application later.

Why does it matter?

If your funding is late you might not be able to pay your rent on time, buy your books or food, or go out during Welcome Week. The University doesn't have money available to lend to students in this situation, so think about how you might manage if you don't apply on time - and if possible, put some money aside just in case there are any issues with your application.

If you have any questions about your funding or making your application, please see our website or contact the Student Advice Centre for more information:  https://www.hallamstudentsunion.com/advice_help/advicehelp/money/
