A message from your Student Officers: In solidarity we stand

As you will know, the government have placed us in another national lockdown.

This has a massive impact on all of us, and we understand that students are arguably one of the most affected groups in the country.

As a Students’ Union, we stand in solidarity with each and every one of you – and we understand the huge impact the constant changes, isolation and uncertainty are having on your mental health and wellbeing.

We are working closely with the University on a daily basis to ensure that you receive the support you need, and to ensure that learning and teaching is delivered at a high standard across the institution. Following the recent Pulse Survey, we have identified issues you are raising and ensuring that the University acts to address these.

We understand how difficult this is for you. If you are in need of help and support, please do get in touch with our Student Advice Centre or talk to your Student Support Advisor. If you’re lonely, bored, or want something to do to feel like part of a Community at the University, then check out our Covid Support page and join our Corona Community. We also really want to hear your feedback so we can continue fighting for you and working with the University to mitigate the impact of this pandemic on your lives and studies.

You can tell us what’s on your mind, talk to your Students’ Union Department Rep, or talk to any of us as your elected officers.

This is difficult, but together we can get through this. Take care, and remember we’ve got your back every step of the way.

In solidarity,

Andrew, Laith, Hannah, Diya, Praise and George.
