Activities Officer

The Activities Officer supports the exciting groups and opportunities the Union has to offer. As Activities Officer, you'll look after Volunteering groups, Societies, student fundraising and the Media. You'll help new groups to set up, and make sure existing ones deliver the best opportunities to Hallam students.

As Activities Officer, you're a trustee of the Students' Union and you have the opportunity to really enhance the student experience. If you're passionate about student groups and have ideas of how to make them even better, then this is the role for you.

Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Students' Rep

The BME Rep is the primary representative for Black and Minority Ethnic Students, and has the job of making sure the Union and University is more inclusive.

In this role you'll play a part in shaping and directing policy, and you'll run campaigns on issues relating to BME students, such as closing the attainment gap.

Disabled Students' Rep

As Disabled Students Rep, you'll be providing the voice for students at Hallam with a disability. You'll be working to make sure that the Union and the University do as much as they can to ensure their activities and services are accessible and inclusive. You'll campaign, set policy and work on projects throughout the institution.

Education Officer

This role does exactly what it says on the tin - as Education Officer you'd be representing students' academic interests within the University. The Education Officer is there to make sure students get the most out of their course, and the academic experience at Sheffield Hallam is as good as it can possibly be.

The Education Officer is a key member of a huge number of University Committees and is, like all full time officers, a trustee of the Union. They work closely with Course and Faculty Reps across the University. If you care about your education and want the University to get even better, then maybe this is the job for you.

Faculty Academic Rep - Arts, Computing, Engineering and Sciences

You're the primary representative for students in your Faculty, helping to shape and influence the Union and the University and make sure it fits the needs of your students. You'll get the chance to lead on projects and campaigns, as well as sitting on high level meetings throughout the University.

You're the primary representative for students in your Faculty, helping to shape and influence the Union and the University and make sure it fits the needs of your students. You'll get the chance to lead on projects and campaigns, as well as sitting on high level meetings throughout the University.

Faculty Academic Rep - Development and Society

You're the primary representative for students in your Faculty, helping to shape and influence the Union and the University and make sure it fits the needs of your students. You'll get the chance to lead on projects and campaigns, as well as sitting on high level meetings throughout the University.

Working with Course and Department Reps, you'll ensure that students in Development and Society have a voice within the Students' Union and the University. As a full member of rep committee and Union Council, you'll have a budget to run events and campaigns that benefit students in your Faculty and play a part in cross organisational campaigns.

The International Students Rep makes sure the Students' Union and the University provide an excellent student experience for the 4,000+ international students studying here.

You'll lead on campaigns, take part in key meetings and work on projects to ensure International Students are included as active participants in University life.

LGBT+ Students' Rep

As LGBT+ Students Rep, you'll make sure that LGBT+ students feel supported and included whilst studying at Sheffield Hallam University.

You'll campaign for better support services, signpost students to help where appropriate and lead on major projects.

There are thousands of Mature Students on campus, and as Mature Students' Rep you get the chance to make sure they're represented in the Union.

You'll sit on major committees, shape policy and look to ensure the Union and the University are inclusive of mature students, and that activities and support are appropriate to all students.

Part Time Students' Rep

As Part Time Students Rep, you'll be making sure that Part Time students are represented within the Union and the University.

Whether it's by running projects to make sure that activities and support is accessible to students, campaigning for reduced travel costs, or simply providing a voice for Part Time students, you'll be making a big difference in this role.

Post Graduate Students' Rep

The Postgraduate Students Rep works with Full Time Officers to make sure the Students' Union and the University provide a brilliant experience to our 7,000 postgraduate students.

You'll sit on major committees, shape policy and run campaigns, and with your help the Union can provide a brilliant experience to taught and research postgraduate students.

President

The President leads the Students' Union, making sure students have the best possible time at University. As well as leading the officer team, the President sits on the highest governing boards of the University, and makes sure the student voice is heard.

As well as this, the President is the Deputy Chair of the Students' Union Trustee Board, and the figurehead of the Union externally. They also take the lead on supporting the work of Part Time Reps.  The President is the first point of contact for NUS, and liaises with local politicians. If you want a role as a leader of a charity in a key strategic position, then this might be the role for you!

Sports and Physical Activities Officer

The Sports and Physical Activities Officer is the student representative for all Sheffield Hallam sports clubs and individuals. They lead the many sports groups on campus, and oversee the delivery of major sporting events such as Varsity - including the 8,000 attendee Ice Hockey finale.

The Sports and Physical Activities Officer is a key member of all sporting decision making bodies within the University, as well as being a trustee of the Union. If you're passionate about sports, and keen to get experience in the development and delivery of sporting activities, then this is the perfect job for you.

Union Council Chair

Union Council is the highest decision making body in the Students' Union. As Union Council Chair, you lead on the implementation and delivery of all policy within the Union.

As Union Council Chair, you will hold elected officers and representatives to account and ensure the Union delivers on its policy commitments. You will chair meetings of the Students' Unions highest decision making body, and will be a key member of the representative team.

Welfare and Community Officer

The Welfare and Community Officer is there to make sure students feel safe, supported and part of a community while studying at Sheffield Hallam University. They lead on campaigns around issues as diverse as housing, student finance and health and work on projects with the University and the Council.

The Welfare and Community Officer works closely with a range of people within the city, sits on important University Committees and is a trustee of the Union. If you're passionate about student welfare and students' being part of the city of Sheffield, then this could be the role for you.

Womens' Rep

As Womens' Rep you'll be the primary representative for female students studying at Sheffield Hallam University. You'll lead on campaigns and look to ensure women's interests are properly represented on campus both within the Union and the University.
