We are about empowering BME Students - Speak and be heard.

What we are?

A committee to bring together people of BME heritage so we can share experience, ideas, and tackle any issues which we face in society or in Sheffield Hallam University. We aim to create a safe space for self-identifying BME students. We would love all BME students to participate in our upcoming projects and events. Come and let your voice be heard, get the best out of your student experience and be represented.

What we do?

• Increase awareness of the issues facing BME students at Sheffield Hallam University.

• Create a platform in which issues can be raised and then campaign to see these issues resolved.

• Help to organise Black History Month & BME in Leadership events at Hallam. During this academic year, the BME committee will be aiming to deliver another successful Black History Month and also host events and socials, whether that be panel discussions or social events, to see the voices of our BME students heard.

Membership

Membership to the BME Committee is completely free! You can gain official SU membership by logging in and adding it to your basket - this will add you to the private mailing list and allow you to run and vote in any BME Committee elections. Your position as a member will always be entirely confidential.
