SHU Karting is the official Go-Karting Society for Sheffield Hallam University. We hold regular casual arrive & drive karting events at various Sheffield-based Go-Kart tracks, and our championship team tours England and Wales competing in live-broadcast BUKC races.
Whether you're just looking to have a blast with your mates and grab a drink after, or you're out to break the track record, we're the society for you.
Once a month, we all head down to one of the local tracks in Sheffield City Centre for a quick blast around the track. These races are just for fun, so anyone of any skill level can come along and join in... even if you've never driven a Go-Kart in your life!
After we've finished racing, we all head into town. Our society has multiple sponsorship agreements with Organised Chaos, Walkabout and more, granting all SHU Karting members great discounts on events around the city (and cheap drinks as well!).
The British Universities Karting Championship is the UK's number one rental kart chamionship. These 2-stroke 125cc Club100 Go-Karts have a top speed of over 70mph! Our societies best drivers tour the UK competing in these ultra-competitive, live-braodcast events (including the 24h endurance race!). Some top drivers compete here, including professional racing drivers from Formula 3, Ginetta GT4, the BRC, Touring cars and more.
