We are recruiting volunteers for this project! If you would like to be involved in this project please email us on volunteering@shu.ac.uk for more information.
Although projects will be running in the 20/21 academic year they may look a little different than before due to social distancing guidelines. This means meetings and sessions may be done virtually - the volunteering team will guide you on this.
Food Heaven aims to bring nutrition and healthy lifestyles information to young people across Sheffield. In the past the project has ran sessions for 6 weeks in local primary schools, these sessions included fun activities based around healthy eating and a practical element of making some snacks/meals! This information helps the young people make and understand healthier choices with their food and lifestyles.
Volunteers will be responsible for making the session plans and deciding on the activities done. This could be sessions in schools, a local community centre or much more!
You will need to be passionate about healthy lifestyles and share your knowledge with these young people in an engaging and fun way.
1-2 hours
Volunteers on this project will need to complete Safeguarding training and a DBS Check which will be done by the Volunteering Team at SHSU. Information on this will be sent once you are on the project.
Expenses for travel can be reimbursed by SHSU for more information on this see the Volunteering Handbook.
Please email volunteering@shu.ac.uk to apply for the role, or if you have any questions.
