Keeping it transparent: Our external affiliations for 2025/26

At our Annual Members' Meeting (AMM) on 16 April 2026, Hallam students came together and voted in favour of maintaining our partnerships with several external organisations. These affiliations are incredibly important - they help us back you up with expert advice, fight for student rights nationally, and make life at Hallam the best it can be.

To keep things completely transparent (and to comply with the Education Act 1994), we publish a breakdown of who we're affiliated with, alongside the annual subscription fees. Because this is funded by your SU, you have a right to see exactly where the money goes!

Our affiliations for the 2026/27 academic year:

National Union of Students (NUS)* Unites us with millions of students across the UK to lobby the government and fight for major higher education reforms. £37,500
Yorkshire & Humber Employers Association (YHEA) Provides our staff with regional employment insights and HR best practices. £255

*Due to our recent NUS UK referendum, we will be leaving NUS UK as of December 2026, which will result in a saving of £30,000 per year. We will remain a member of NUS Charity (£7,500).
