The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University have created a new partnership to run Off the Shelf literature festival, with both universities working together to curate, mentor and manage the festival. Off the Shelf is an exciting, highly-regarded literature festival which has taken place annually in the city for over 25 years.

A volunteer briefing session for Off the Shelf will be held on Thursday 28 September, 6-7pm in Workroom 4, 38 Mappin Street, University of Sheffield, S1 4DT. This will be a chance to find out more about the festival, meet the team and ask any questions. Attendance is highly encouraged.
Volunteer tasks may include:
- meeting and greeting audiences and signposting the way to the day’s events
- handing out information and giveaways
- staffing a box office or book sales stall
- checking tickets
- liaising with managers
- collecting audience feedback
- supporting some setting up and packing away
