"Volunteering as a Student can create a massive impact in your local community and provides an opportunity for you to make changes to the issues you care about."

Heeley City Farm Gardening Volunteers

If you love green space, want to learn a new hobby and at the same time support a local community in Sheffield, this role is perfectly designed for you.

Heeley City Farm is a friendly farm and environmental visitor centre in the heart of Sheffield. They hold various gardening sessions for anyone to get involved in. To help the sessions run smoothly, they are looking for some volunteers. No experience is necessary and all equipment will be provided. You can go along for an hour once or go along every Friday - it's up to you!

When: Every Friday, 10:30 - 12:30

Where: Heeley City Farm, Richards Road, Sheffield, S2 2RX

For more information contact Saskia on saskia@heeleyfarm.org.uk or have a look on their website/social media for updates on the sessions.

Over the summer, SHSU volunteering will be running Give it a Go Volunteering sessions on certain dates (Date shown below). Signing up to these means you will be provided a taxi to and from Heeley City Farm and may also go along with other students. These events will be at 10:00 - 13:00 on

As we have limited these spaces, please keep an eye on our website for the future update or book an informal chat appointment with a member of the Volunteering team if you want to find out about longer-term opportunities.
