Manchester Christmas Market

The HUBS, Sheffield Hallam Students' Union | Sunday 4th December | 10am - 5:30pm (arrival in Sheffield 7:00pm)

Kick off your Christmas festivities by joining us on our festive trip to the Manchester Christmas Markets – one of the biggest and longest running in the country. With over 300 stalls selling everything from Christmas tree decorations to handmade jewellery, and food options ranging from authentic German gingerbread, Bratwurst and the famous Yorkshire Pudding wrap. An excellent start to the festive season!

What's included with my ticket?

Tickets are £12 and include travel via coach.

Departing from the Students' Union (The HUBS - 6 Paternoster Row, Sheffield Sheffield S1 2QQ) at 10am.

Return journey departing Manchester at 5pm. The departure location will be communicated on the day.

The day is then yours to spend as you wish, the Christmas markets are large and spread throughout Manchester City Centre.

Things to know

  • Get to the pickup location as stated on your ticket at 9.45am ready for a10am departure
  • Have your e-ticket ready, this can be on your phone
  • Please check the weather and dress appropriately
  • Make a plan for what you want to do in Manchester
  • Be advised that the coaches will be leaving promptly at the coach pick up point at 5pm. This location will be pointed out to you when you arrive
  • If you are late for the trip we will not wait, if you miss the bus home you will need to make your way back to Sheffield
  • We want to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all of our students and staff, so if you exhibit symptoms or test positive for Covid-19 or have been advised to self-isolate, please do not come on the trip and advise our staff via email

Before buying your ticket

  1. All tickets once sold are strictly non-refundable in all circumstances except where a trip is cancelled by Give it a Go. Notifications of cancellations will be given email where available.
  2. Adverse weather conditions which are held to jeopardise the safety of the trip, will result in the cancellation of the trip. If this happens you will receive a full refund.
  3. The presence of precipitation, wind or unpleasant weather conditions will not automatically entitle participants to a refund. Sign ups must expect and be prepared for all aspects of British weather. We recommend dressing in layers, sensible shoes and bringing a waterproof or umbrella.
  4. Students must be on time at the meeting point or coach will leave without them. This is the case both leaving and returning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I've bought a ticket, but can't go anymore. Can I get a refund?

A. I'm afraid not. This is a non-refundable ticket. Please make sure you're free before you sign up.

Q. What time we will get back to Sheffield?

A. We will be departing Manchester at 5pm. If we do not hit any severe traffic, we should be back in Sheffield for 6:30pm.

Q. Can I bring a friend who is not a student?

A. Yes, we recognise not everyone you are friends with are students, please email shsu-events-mb@exchange.shu.ac.uk as there may be a limited number of places available, but please be aware this will be at a slightly higher cost due to our great deals being exclusively for students!
