Join the Give It A Go team for an entertaining night in with Movie Mondays. You bring your friends, we bring the popcorn - get ready to settle in for some cinematic fun.

Film Synopsis: Jess Bhamra (Parminder Nagra), the daughter of a strict Indian couple (Anupam Kher, Shaheen Khan) in London, is not permitted to play organized soccer, even though she is 18. When Jess is playing for fun one day, her impressive skills are seen by Jules Paxton (Keira Knightley), who then convinces Jess to play for her semi-pro team. Jess uses elaborate excuses to hide her matches from her family while also dealing with her romantic feelings for her coach, Joe.

Ticket Information  

The movie will be screening promptly at 4pm at The Stage at HUBS (Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union) building. Don’t be late so you don’t miss any of the film!

Things to know

  • Arrive at The HUBS in plenty of time before the event, so we can check you in
  • Have your e-ticket ready, this can be on your phone
  • If you are late for the event and have not let us know we may give your spot to someone on the waiting list
  • The movie will start promptly at 4pm so please arrive on time to avoid disruptions for other viewers
  • Please be courteous to all viewers by minimising conversations and noise during the screening
  • Please note without a ticket you are not guaranteed entry to this film. You will only be allowed in if other students to not turn up
  • COVID-19: We want to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all of our students and staff, so if you exhibit symptoms or test positive for Covid-19 or have been advised to self-isolate, please do not come to the event and advise our staff via email. In line with government rules, we kindly ask that you wear a mask indoors

What's included with my ticket?

Your ticket is absolutely free, so it's a great cheap and cheerful night in with friends. Your ticket includes entry to the screening as well as popcorn.

What do I need to bring?

While popcorn is provided, any other refreshments will be up to you!

Terms and Conditions

Tickets, Cancellations, Refunds and Adverse Weather Conditions

  1. All tickets once sold are strictly non-refundable in all circumstances except where an event is cancelled by Give it a Go. Notifications of cancellations will be given on social media and email where available.
  2. Give it a Go is open to Sheffield Hallam University students and its Alumni only. Each student must book their own ticket to the screening however Give it a Go takes no liabilities if a guest is denied access without the proper production of an NUS or uCard.
  3. As the Covid-19 situation can change rapidly, we will advise you if the event must be cancelled due to staff shortage or government restrictions. In the case of a free event, you do not need to do anything; if you have paid for the event it will be refunded if the event must be cancelled.

Expected Conduct and Liabilities

  1. Please observe the authority of the event host and follow all reasonable instructions. Our staff and guides are there to keep you safe!
  2. We advise against you taking expensive or sentimental belongings to these events. Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union cannot be held liable or responsible for any losses sustained to property however caused.
