The course is run by external provider Ap Training Services. 

Ofqual Approved - FAA Level 2 Award

This 1 day event leads to a qualification which provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. 

This course will cover:

  • Know what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a First Aider for mental health
  • Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting a mental health condition
  • Know how to recognise and manage stress
  • Know how to recognise a range of mental health conditions, these include 
    • Depression • Anxiety • Psychosis • Eating disorders • Suicide • Self-harm
  • Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
  • Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place
  • Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace

Assessments that afternoon in half hour time slots.  

This course will be ran virtually. 

There are only 16 spaces available on this course so be quick. Because there is such limited space, we will require a refundable deposit. Your deposit will be refunded once you have attended the course. Those who sign up and do not give us notice that they will not be participating will not be refunded their deposit.
