Thinking of getting into teaching or volunteering on a classroom-based project? We have the ideal training for you!
Mark Heaton is a Principal Lecturer in Primary and Early Years. Having taught extensively in Sheffield & the USA, he then worked as a Local Authority Behaviour Support Teacher, then Behaviour and Attendance Consultant. Mark also chaired the Local Authority’s ‘Anti- Bullying Multi-Agency Working Group’ & has delivered training, including internationally.
Mark's training sessions focus on behaviour management in its widest sense. This includes consideration of the underlying causes of misbehaviour and the importance of social, emotional and behavioural skills for children and adults alike. It will acknowledge how our own behaviour impacts on pupils’ behaviour and then crucially highlight the importance of planning for positive classroom behaviour.
