The Social - Wellbeing Services for Autistic Students

The Social - Wellbeing Services for Autistic Students

DATE: Tuesday 01 October 2019

TIME: 1pm - 2:30pm

LOCATION: Location to be confirmed due to Freebie Fair

What it is

It's a place for eating your lunch, using games consoles, playing board games and relaxing. There is also an activity each time - you can join in if you want to but you don't have to. Tools and materials for each activity are provided.

The Social is not about drinking alcohol and there is no pressure to talk to other people if you don't want to.

For games, we currently have; Bug Bingo, a chess set, Countdown, Monopoly Deal, Ticket to Ride and Zip It.

Who it's for

It's for students on the autism spectrum. You don't need to have had autism diagnosed by a professional to come along.  You can bring a friend or house-mate (autistic or not autistic).

How to join

Just come along when you want to. There is no need to sign up or register. If you would like to meet up with a member of staff who can come with you for your first visit please email us and we can arrange this.

Where it is

Normally in the Common Room, Level 1, The Students' Union Building (also known as the HUBS), Paternoster Row, Sheffield S1 2QQ

On this date we can't use The Common Room because it is being used for the annual student 'Freebies Fair'. This page will be updated when we have booked a venue.

This Social will be a chance to meet your mentor, to learn about peer mentoring for students who are unsure if they want one, and to take part in our Sheffield based quiz!
