Overview of Project

In this role you will be helping families and children to explore creative, sensory and art-based play activities. You will also be proactive in chatting to parents/carers and generally helping with the flow of the sessions. These are incredibly fun and rewarding sessions. The role is perfectly suited to volunteers who have, or want to gain, experience of working with very young children and families.

This Role Involves

As a Family Learning Mentor you will support these fun creative sessions and use your own initiative to help encourage families and children to engage with the activities. Some experience or confidence to work with parents/carers and their young children will be fantastic. This role is physically active, moving resources and playing with children on the floor – so good mobility is required. You will always be supported by a member of staff. For continuity, for some activities, it would be helpful if you could commit to a series of sessions, but this is not necessary, any help is much appreciated.
