Are you passionate about stories, creativity and all things magical? Are you interested in working with children and young people? Overview of Project

Groups of Primary School children write their own unique story with the support of staff and volunteers. The sessions are very facilitated in a fun, imaginative arts-based way. Once the children realise that spelling and grammar is not an issue and their ideas rule you will see their imaginations flourish and creative confidence grow, even those who do not normally engage in the classroom.

This Role Involves

As a Storymaking Mentor you will support a small group of children throughout the session to get what is in their imagination on to paper. Your group will create the beginning and middle of the story together and then share their ideas with the whole class. You will then help individual children to create their very own, unique ending to the story. Each child leaves the session with a copy of the book the class have created with their very own ending! You will be able to see the book in print immediately!
