One-off volunteers for Doncaster 10K

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to support us at the Doncaster 10K race that is taking place on Sunday 30th November. This race will be starting and finishing at Doncaster racecourse.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with the following tasks:
•    Marshalling at different points along the race track.
•    Operating a bag drop

Overview of Project

About the hospice Bluebell Wood offers care for babies, children and young people in South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Lincolnshire and North Derbyshire with life-limiting conditions. We support hundreds of families, both in our hospice and in family homes. Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family; including overnight care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits and much, much more. It costs around £6.5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. Statutory funding makes up 16% of this amount and the rest is raised through fundraising activity.

This Role Involves

Wea re looking for volunteers to marshal the route at various points along the race track and to help operate a bag drop for the runners.

What we are looking for: Volunteers who are Looking for a one off volunteering opportunity (although you are more than welcome to sign up as a regular volunteer afterwards!) Friendly Willing to be part of a team Respectful of members of the public, staff and fellow volunteers

Role Duration

This is a one-off opportunity taking place on Sunday 30th November. Volunteers are required from 7.30am-12pm

Time Commitment (hours Per week/month/year, etc)

4.5 hours

Training Information

You will be sent some briefing documents ahead of the event and there will be a whole team briefing on the day before the start of the race.

Expenses Information

We can cover your travel expenses in line with our policy. PLEASE NOTE: We can only cover costs for petrol and public transport. we are unable to reimburse any taxi expenses.
