One-off volunteer for Ikea fundraising with Blu Crew

Haven't got lots of free time but fancy getting involved volunteering at occasional events for a brilliant cause?! Want to make wonderful memories, whilst supporting us to raise funds for our children's hospice? Looking for something to boost your CV? If that's a yes, events and fundraising volunteering is for you!

Support us inside Ikea where we are needing volunteers to run a merchandise stall and tombola for us and bucket collect alongside the amazing Blu Crew choir who will also be there performing some songs!

Overview of Project

Bluebell Wood offers care for babies, children and young people in South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Lincolnshire and North Derbyshire with life-limiting conditions. We support hundreds of families, both in our hospice and in family homes. Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family; including overnight care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits and much, much more. It costs around £6.5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. Statutory funding makes up 16% of this amount and the rest is raised through fundraising activity.

This Role Involves

From supporting us behind the scenes with getting events set up, to being an enthusiastic marshal, cheering people on, we've got something for everyone! Some of the things you can get help us with in this role include: Setting up gazebos and tables Selling Bluebell Wood merchandise Bucket collecting Helping to represent Bluebell Wood Dressing up as our mascot - George the dog!

Skills/Experience Required

We're looking for volunteers who: • Are available preferably all day but we can be flexible if needs be. • Are friendly and energetic • Are a good communicator • Like being in a busy environment, often with lot's of fun activities going on • Are willing to work as part of a team. If you're not sure if this role is right for you we'd be happy to chat to you. We welcome volunteers with all sorts of experience and we're able to provide training and support.

Training Information

Volunteers will receive a briefing on the day of the event and regular supervision.
