Sports/ Games Supervisor

This opportunity takes place between 02 Sep 2025 and 21 Jul 2026 Closing date for applications is 30 Jun.

1. To supervise football matches and ensure a safe environment. 2. To work together with the Youth worker and young people to help develop confidence in their football skills. 3. During the Winter/ during times of bad weather, we will play games in Wesley Hall instead.

The Wesley Hall Football Club (WHFC) is Missional activity run by the Wesley Hall Methodist Church for young people and families in the community to come together in a safe place, to have fun, and join in with other young people while playing football.

The WHFC meets on Tuesdays from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. During Winter we will play games in Wesley Hall instead.

Overview of Project

Main Aims of the Role are; 1. To provide children from year 7 to year 13 with an opportunity to meet together after school and play football in a low pressure environment. 2. To provide a point of contact for the church with young people and families in the community.

This Role Involves

Skills/Experience Required

1. A commitment to the needs of young people and a desire to see them appropriately supported and resourced in order that they can grow and develop to their full potential is important. 2. A patient outlook, able to see the bigger picture and let young people fail so that they are able to learn. 3. Previous experience of working with this age range is not essential.

Benefits to Others

This provides young people that wouldn't normally have the opportunity to play football, space to play and learn football skills at their own pace.

Benefits to the Volunteer

It give me a great deal of satisfaction when I see a screen addicted teen forget that he wants to check his mobile game for 10 minutes because he is enjoying playing with a football
