Student Volunteering Week - Mencap Garden Volunteering

We are looking for volunteers interested in gardening to help us keep our grounds looking beautiful and a lovely, welcoming place to attend and visit.

Do you enjoy gardening and have a few hours to spare on 12/02/25? 

Sheffield Mencap and Gateway are a local charity supporting adults and children with learning disabilities and their families. We have lovely grounds but they take a lot of upkeep! We would hugely appreciate any help to keep our gardens looking beautiful and our site (Norfolk Lodge on Park Grange Road) a welcoming, lovely place to visit.

It is a one-off event, with support and tools provided and travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Overview of Project

We have been providing services and support to people with a learning disability or autism and their families in Sheffield since 1951. Our vision is that all people with a learning disability and their carers in Sheffield are valued, included and respected so they can live fair, full and happy lives.

Skills/Experience Required

An interest in Gardening and wish to help a local charity :) We don't expect anyone to be expert, just keen and willing to try and help us out please. Please make sure to bring your own lunch and wear suitable clothing and footwear!

The grounds are lovely so will be enjoyable to potter around and work in- and it's a lovely place to work in any capacity, a great place filled with laughter. Plus, you can have all the wild garlic you can manage!!
