Event support Volunteer: Yorkshire chocolate festival

Roundabout is looking for 30 volunteers to help at the Yorkshire chocolate festival 2024. This event will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Meadowhead (S8 8BW). Volunteers will be required to check tickets as well as sell them at the door, set up/run the tombola/raffle, and do other activities to assist in the smooth running of the day. There will be two sets of volunteers set 1 will volunteer between 9am-1pm then set 2 will volunteer between 1pm-5pmThe building is fully accessible, so the roles are open to all.

Overview of Project

Roundabout is South Yorkshire’s local youth housing charity providing shelter, support and life skills to young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. When Roundabout first began in 1977, we operated a small emergency hostel accommodation for young people. Over forty years later, our vision is to end youth homelessness in South Yorkshire. Roundabout supports over 350 young people aged 16-25 every day. Alongside providing emergency accommodation in our hostel, we support young people in residential projects in Sheffield and Rotherham and provide key services delivering comprehensive programmes of training, involvement and empowerment to help to prepare young people for independent living.

This Role Involves

This role will involve checking tickets/selling them on the door, setting up, running the tombola and raffle, checking traders in and general stewarding.

Role Duration

the event runs from 10am-4pm but volunteers may be needed before and after to help with set up and set down.

Training Information

You will be given instructions on the day. No other training is needed for this role.

Expenses Information

We will give volunteers 40p per mile travelled to the event and we will refund the price of a single or return bus fare to the event. Volunteers should keep the receipt/ ticket to be reimbursed. We will also provide drinks and snacks for our volunteers throughout the day.
