Following the catastrophic flash floods and landslides across Nepal recently, Hallam Students’ Union stands in solidarity with all those affected.
We recognise that tragic global events can be deeply distressing, particularly for our international and Nepali students who are living away from home and worried about the safety of family, friends, and loved ones back in Nepal.
Please know that you are not alone during this difficult time, and your Students' Union is here to offer care and assistance.
Support for affected students
If you have been directly or indirectly impacted by the flooding, or if someone you know has been affected, we encourage you to seek help through the following channels:
- Sheffield Hallam University Wellbeing Support is available if you would like to talk to someone about how you are feeling. It is a good idea to speak with your Student Support Adviser if you have been impacted in any way.
- Sheffield Hallam University Multi-Faith Chaplaincy provides support to all Hallam students, religious or not. You can contact Riley, Hallam's International Chaplain, at chaplaincy@shu.ac.uk.
- SU Advice can advise you if your ability to fulfil academic commitments has been impacted.
If you require guidance on accessing any of these resources, please contact us and we will assist in directing you to the appropriate services.
