Calling all Hallam students! Have you got a business idea you believe in? This is your chance to develop that idea and make it a reality.
Got a business idea you're desperate to make successful? Now is your chance!
Hallam SU Officers Shafaq Sajid, International Students' Officer, and Ebuka Obi, Business, Technology and Engineering Officer, have teamed up with the Uni's Enterprise team to showcase your entrepreneurial potential.
This competition is open to all current Hallam students who're passionate about turning a business idea into reality. You'll also meet with industry professionals, gain insights from mentors, and learn how to navigate the complexities of the UK market.
Why should I apply?
Win a prize of £1,400 and a mentorship package!
One lucky winner will receive a £1,400 prize to develop their business idea. Keep £100 of the prize as a treat for yourself, but the remaining £1,300 must be spent on developing your idea.
You'll also receive one-on-one mentoring from Hallam's expert Enterprise team who can support with refining your business pitch, adapting your business idea for success in the current UK market, and provide guidance on marketing, finances, and operations.
Showcase your ideas
Present your entrepreneurial concepts to a diverse panel, increasing visibility and attracting potential collaborators or investors.
Receive valuable feedback
Receive constructive critiques from experienced judges and industry professionals, helping you refine your idea and enhance your business strategy.
Gain networking opportunities
Connect with industry experts, mentors, and fellow entrepreneurs, expanding your professional network and opening doors to future opportunities.
How does it work?
The competition consists of multiple stages.
1. Application
Submit your business idea using our online application form by Friday 19 December, 5pm.
2. Shortlist
The team will review your application and email you by Saturday 10 January to let you know whether you've been shortlisted.
If you're successfully shortlisted, you'll advance to the final stage of the competition and be provided with information on next steps.
3. Judging panel
On Thursday 29 January, you'll pitch your idea and business proposal to a panel of 3-4 judges and industry experts.
The pitch should take approx. 10-15 minutes, followed by additional time for the judging panel to ask you questions.
There is only one winner for this competition, so make sure your idea stands out!
How do I apply?

Applications will be reviewed by a panel and shortlisted candidates will be notified about next steps.
