Got an idea for a campaign, but not sure where to start? Let us know and we can support you with everything from organising the campaign to lobbying the University. We want campaigns to be student-centred and student-led, and that starts with you.
Email us at campaigns@shu.ac.uk to get things started.
The Sheffield Students' Assembly is a dynamic and interactive event providing students with a unique opportunity to engage directly with their members of parliament and other elected officials to address pressing student issues.
Check out our events page for upcoming assemblies.
Seen a campaign we're running that you'd like to get involved with? Let us know and we can show you how you can help. Campaigns only work with people power so don't hesitate to get in touch!
Want to know more about how we run campaigns at HSU? We offer student groups bespoke campaigns training based on the 'community organising' model of change making, which you can use not just in campaigning, but has real use for loads of careers too!
Email us at campaigns@shu.ac.uk to find out about training.

Over the past two years we've worked with over a hundred course reps, Lead reps & RCN reps on how to make sure our nursing courses were at their best. As part of this, we published this report on what developments need to happen for the nursing department in general, and extra support for Disabled students. We're confident a lot of changes have happened but we're still monitoring the situation, so if you're a nursing course rep, make sure to keep your Lead rep informed or share your experience. Thank you to the nursing course reps for making all of this possible!

Nursing Report 2023
Disabled Students Nursing Report 2023
Over the past year, your president Martha Mitchell, previously acting as SSA College Officer, has lobbied the University to bring back the cafe on Aspect Court. From giving out free tea and coffee to Aspect Court students, to bringing a proposal to bring back the cafe to the board of governors, Martha has exhausted all options to get the cafe back. Unfortunately, due to the financial situation Hallam is currently in, we are unlikely to see any movement. But, Martha is not giving up, as part of her priorities this year she is now focussing on how we can re-use the closed cafes across campus to be better spaces for students.
