Welcome to the Sheffield Hallam Christian Union! We are a vibrant community of students dedicated to living out our faith on campus. Our mission is to unite Christians from all backgrounds to demonstrate the love and values of God’s Kingdom and to share the transformative message of the Gospel with our fellow students. Whether you’re curious about Christianity or already following Jesus, Hallam CU is a place to explore life’s biggest questions in a real and welcoming community. We’re all about sharing the good news of Jesus in a way that’s honest, relevant, and open to everyone.

Who Are We?
We’re a group of students at Sheffield Hallam who are passionate about Jesus and making Him known on campus. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel, and we want to create a space where people can ask questions, explore faith, and build genuine friendships.
What We Do?
Main Meetings –
Our weekly main meeting is the heart of Hallam CU. It’s a relaxed, welcoming space where anyone can come along, whether you’ve been a Christian for years or are just curious. A typical evening includes a short talk about Jesus and the Bible that’s relevant to student life, followed by time to chat, ask questions, and get to know people. The vibe is informal and friendly. There is no pressure to say or do anything, just come, listen, and be part of it. It’s a great place to bring friends along, especially if they’re interested in exploring Christianity in a normal, open environment.

Socials –
We love spending time together outside of meetings, and our socials are a big part of that. Whether it’s grabbing food after a main meeting, coffee catch-ups, games nights, sports, or bigger events throughout the term, there’s always something going on. We try to keep things varied and accessible, so there’s something for everyone, whether you’re up for something lively or just want to chill and chat.
Outreach Events –
Throughout the year, we run a range of events designed to give everyone on campus the chance to explore Christianity for themselves in a relaxed and accessible way.
From on-campus coffee bars, where you can grab a free drink and chat about life, faith, and anything in between, to our Events Week, packed with talks, discussions, and guest speakers tackling big questions about Christianity. There are loads of opportunities to get involved and bring friends along.
One of the highlights of the year is our Christmas Carol Service, a festive evening with carols, readings, and a clear message about the hope of Jesus. It’s a great chance to celebrate together and invite friends to hear the Christmas story in a warm and welcoming setting
