A Scout Group based in Netheredge Sheffield. Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development...

Assistant Beaver Scout leader

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

As Assistant Leader you will support the operation of the Beaver Scout Section, in particular, the planning and delivery of the Scout Association's 'Balanced Programme' to the section with the help of the Cub Scout Leader, Section Assistants and Young Leaders.

Beaver Scouts are aged 6-8 years old.

As well as having the opportunity to gain externally recognised skills and to have a brilliant time, you will also have the chance to build on personal skills, like teamwork, confidence and leadership. A study found that over 90% of our volunteers believe that the skills and experiences they have gained through Scouting have been of relevance to their working or personal lives.

St Oswald's Scout Group is celebrated its Centenary year in 2012-2013 and is doubling the size of the Group to meet local need. Some adult support already exists and new assistants are required to meet the local demand for Scouting.

There is no requirement to attend every week, flexible volunteering means that you can contribute to meet your other commitments. All that we ask is that you are involved in the planning process and provide support when you agree to.

Pack meetings typically last 1.25 hours plus setting up and tidying up. No previous scouting experience is required.
