Based on previous feedback, this year we've...

  • Given 135 students a years' supply of free period products (32,400 products in total!) via our Period Product Subscription Scheme.
  • Provided students with:
    • over 33 Emergency Food Packs, with further funding secured for 40 packs per year for the next two years.
    • hundreds of free sexual health kits, including condoms and lube sachets.
    • thousands of free anti- drink spiking kits.
    • over 30 free drug testing kits, as part of our approach to harm reduction.
    • £3,500 worth of free food via our Community Fridge (since April 2025).
  • Expanded our Activities Inclusion Fund to provide £5,000 in funding for extracurricular activities for 2025/26, with a further £10,000 in funding secured for the next two years.
  • Re-launched the Sheffield Students' Assembly, with our second one this year (26 March) focusing on transport affordability and provision.

  • Created stronger links with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, consulting them on transport provision and their local growth plan, with the aim of increasing graduate opportunities for Hallam students in South Yorkshire.

  • Met with Abtisam Mohammed MP about undergraduate Student Loan interest rates and repayment plans.

  • Expanded our Cost of Living webpages to include guidance on low income prescriptions.

  • Improved guidance on and signposting to financial support options including hardship funding, emergency support, and scholarships and bursaries.

  • Promoted financial education through Blackbullion, supporting students to build budgeting skills and improve money management through accessible online learning tools.
