Congratulations to our friends at Sheffield Hallam University on winning the Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community Award at the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Awards 2022!

The THE Awards - widely recognised as the 'Oscars of higher education' - celebrates the talent, dedication and innovation of individuals and teams across all aspects of university life.

The Award recognises SHU's work through South Yorkshire Futures (SYF), the biggest university-led social mobility programme in the country, and their leadership in the civic university agenda.

This year's ceremony took place in London yesterday (17 November) where Sabahat Khan, Students' Union President, received the award alongside SHU colleagues Debbie Squire, Carol Castle, and Sally Pearse.

The University were also shortlisted for University of the Year and Knowledge Exchange/Transfer Initiative of the Year Awards.
