Introducing Speak Week: Amplifying Your Voice

At Hallam Students’ Union, your opinions matter to us. We believe that student feedback is crucial in shaping the future of our Students' Union and creating a better experience for everyone. That's why we are excited to introduce Speak Week, a campaign dedicated to gathering your thoughts and ideas over the course of a week.

What is Speak Week?

Speak Week is an initiative aimed at deepening our collective understanding of student issues. Unlike other feedback gathering activities, Speak Week focuses on face-to-face conversations and qualitative data, ensuring that your individual experiences and perspectives are heard.

Why Should You Participate?

By taking part in Speak Week, you have the opportunity to make a real impact. Your feedback will help us shape our activities, campaigns, and future representative initiatives. We want to ensure that your voice is heard and that the Union truly reflects your needs and concerns.

How Does Speak Week Work?

During the week commencing 6th November, we will be stationed across campus, ready to engage in meaningful conversations with you. Look out for our friendly Officers, Representatives, and SU Staff.

To gather your feedback, we have prepared postcards that will allow you to share your thoughts. The question we invite you to answer is: "If you ran the University, what would you keep and what would you change?" This broad question gives you the freedom to express any University-focused feedback, whether it's positive or suggestions for improvement.

Making Your Voice Count

Processing and analysing the feedback from Speak Week will be a significant undertaking. Our dedicated team will meticulously transcribe and evaluate each handwritten response. We believe that every opinion matters, and we will ensure that your feedback is treated with the attention it deserves.

While a report of headline figures will be shared with the University, we also recognise the importance of addressing feedback individually. Our Officers, Reps and Staff will respond to specific feedback by posting on this page. We aim to demonstrate our understanding of your concerns and the actions we are taking to address them.

Join Us for Speak Week

Don't miss this opportunity to have your say and shape the future of Sheffield Hallam University. Look out for our Speak Week team on campus during the designated week, and let your voice be heard. Together, we can make a difference.

If you don’t catch us around campus, you can always submit feedback about anything at Hallam to our Union Voice platform. Tell us anything.
