Best Bar None Award

Best Bar None Award

The Hideout is proud to be part of the Best Bar None (BBN) scheme. Assuring our students that we are a safe and responsible venue.

BBN is a Home Office supported accreditation scheme recognising responsible licensing practice in line with the four core licensing objectives, and Sheffield currently has 40 premises accredited, including Sheffield Hallam Students' Union student bar the Hideout. At present the scheme is only open to premises operating within the city centre ring road, on Ecclesall Road and Sharrowvale Road.

The scheme culminates annually in an awards ceremony which celebrates the achievement of all of the premises as well as awarding winner status in numerous  categories including 'University Challenge'. For two consecutive years Sheffield Hallam Students' Union has beaten the Univeristy of Sheffield to scoop this award.

There is also a Best Bar None app for Sheffield. It is the one stop app for all the information you need for a safe night out in the city. It allows you to find Sheffield’s best and safest entertainment venues for your night out via GPS and includes all best bar none accredited premises in the city. It also gives tips on your health and safety during a night out and travel information.

The app is available for Android and Apple devices, click on the correct link for your device to download.
