Get Active Week is your opportunity to take the first steps towards a healthier lifestyle with our free sport and fitness sessions. We'll be hosting sport and activities across campus and halls from 22-26th January.
Free Social Sport and Fitness Classes

Come and visit our information stalls at Owen main entrance and Heart of the Campus reception to win prizes every day of Get Active Week. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and give out information about sport and fitness at Sheffield Hallam.

Table Tennis Tournament
Wednesday 24th January 6-9pm (HUBs) - £1.50 (charity donation Student Minds).
The tournament is open to all abilities with equipment and refreshments provided. 1st prize to be won is a gym membership, 2nd a £20 Sports Direct gift card and 3rd prize a £10 Sports Direct gift card.
We're bringing sport to halls throughout Get Active week, giving you a chance to try out personal training in 30 or 60 minutes blocks. Each 30 minutes session is £10 and can be attended to by up to 4 people. Bookings can be made by calling through to 114 225 3000 stating your Halls of residence, dates and time of participation and the number of participants. Each participant must complete an health and safety Par Q prior to exercise.

Personal Training – We'll get there together
£10 for 30 mins or £20 for 60 mins.
Hallam Active are providing highly qualified, supportive and inspirational fitness instructors will go the extra mile to help you achieve your goals. It’s what we do. Giving you the knowledge, skills and belief to achieve your post-Christmas fitness goals. The session includes;
•completion of the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q)
•a brief talk on fitness, etiquette and health and safety
•a lifestyle discussion and design of personalised programme to meet goals and fitness-related targets
•a full demonstration of equipment/exercise
•one-to-one personal training session, content as agreed between you and your trainer
Our instructors are friendly and approachable and always on hand to answer any questions and help you get the more out of the session than you could on your own Sheffield Hallam Active.
Our affordable and flexible memberships include access to our fitness suites and classes, free personal training and social sport sessions. We also offer pay as you go options.
Social Sport programme
Social sport is about getting active and having fun. Our programme offers a wide variety of sports for people of all abilities and all equipment is provided. The programme is open to all students, staff and the general public who are invited to try it out and learn to play a sport alongside other like-minded people in a fun environment.
Join a sports club or society
Join more than 100 clubs and societies spanning a variety of sports including archery, snow sports, karting, cheerleading and circus skills. Get behind Team Hallam, join in and stay active while making friends and having fun. You can even set up your own!
After Get Active Week
If you enjoyed Get Active Week, or missed out on our free activities, you can still get involved in sport and fitness at Sheffield Hallam.
Beginners cycling session
Wednesday 24th January 12 -4pm (Endcliffe Park).
British Cycling will be bringing along a van full of bikes to Endcliffe Park for people to use, and will be giving people FREE cycling lessons and tips on riding confidently.
