Ever wanted to try out a classic activity? How about learning a new skill? Or do you want to develop your knitting and crochet abilities? Then you should come to 'Knit Like Your Nana's weekly Tuesday sessions in The Hubs! Don't worry about your ability; we encourage anyone who wants to come along to come. We have sessions planned for amateurs, intermediates, professional and expert knitters and crocheters! Committee members and other experienced knitters will be there to help you when you need it, so give us a shout! Some activities we have planned for the year include: - Learning to knit - Themed and normal socials - Day events and trips - Charity events - And most of all, having fun! The Society was founded in November 2015 and won the Best New Society 2016 award, then the Most Developed Society 2017 award. We are one of the most active Societies in the Students' Union. One of the events we regularly participate in is the ‘100 hats for 100 babies', where we have knitted over 304 hats for Jessops Wing in one year alone. More recently, we knitted poppies to raise money for the Royal British Legion and raised over £200!
If you want to find out more or chat with one of our committee members, don't hesitate to contact us via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or email. We are looking forward to seeing you!
This year we aim to raise as much money as possible around our events for our friends at Marrow!
