The Bioscience Society (BioSoc) is a Society for all students and staff who share an interest in all things Sciencey! Particularly for all those studying Biosciences (biology, human biology, biochemistry, biomedical science), Chemistry and Forensics!
The 2019/20 Committee have reformed after placement year and are excited to provide lots of fun activities for the academic year!
In the previous years the society has welcomed guest speaker, Lord Robert Winston, which we will hopefully repeat! As well as running regular socials, fundraising events and trips Chester Zoo, London and Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Join us for a year full of socials and opportunities to meet fellow students interested in Bioscience! This year we plan on hosting a BioSoc end-of-year social to celebrate the hard work and accompliments achieved throughout the year - So join us now and guarantee yourself a ticket!
This year with a membership fee of just £5 for the year, you can enjoy discounted drinks for social nights out (inc BierKeller, organized chaos, Vodka Revs- we have linked up with Vodka Revs and will be giving all members discount cards which entitles you to 2-4-1 on loads of drinks as well as 50% off food) social events as well as celebrating Biology Week, doing charity fundraising,. We are planning on organizing trips to, most probably, Edinburgh, non social events. We are also cooperating with University of Sheffield to give our members an opportunity to network and make new friends. For first years we will be organizing a small tour around City campus and tips and tricks on how to survive at university. For students graduating this year we will try to provide as much support as possible by sending emails with graduate jobs oppoetunities. With your membership you also get a priority in securing end of year ball tickets at a cheaper cost than the original ones.
