This Society exists to provide a safe and welcoming network for all students who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ Community to come together with like-minded individuals.
The Society aims to create a community that prioritises a sense of belonging for LGBTQ+ Students at Sheffield Hallam University.
We have the opportunity to work with the Union to participate in and lead campaigns and fundraising efforts to benefit our community and would like to invite you to be a part of it!
To join us, purchase one of our free memberships available through our webpage:
Our Society is run by an elected Committee of members, a President, Secretary, Treasurer and Equality and Diversity Officer. These roles will be open for election soon and the successful candidate information will be available on our webpage, feel free to contact them through our email and socials if you have any questions about the Society.
Our webpage will also list all our upcoming events and activities, so please feel free to check out our events and purchase a ticket (some events are free!) to come along and support us.
We have a strong, direct link with the LGBTQ+ Working Committee, a representation system provided by Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union. If you would like to enact change at the University for our community, host events and be a voice for our community, you can put yourself forward to be one of the Open Space Representatives on the Working Committee.
More information about how to put yourself forward for this will be available soon! In the meantime, if you have any questions you can get in contact with the Student Rights and Campaigns team at studentrights@shu.ac.uk.
We also have a strong, direct link with the Transgender Student Working Committee, a representation system provided by Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union. If you would like to enact change at the University for trans students, host events and be a voice for our community, you can put yourself forward to be one of the Open Space Representatives on the Working Committee.
The well-being of our community is important to us, so please find a list of well-being resources below:
